What to Expect

The Resolved Church gathers to worship the resurrected Christ on Sundays as one family.

Currently, we meet in a werehouse type building normally used as a practice hall for the local AMF Musicians Union. So we set up and tear down each week and try to give the place a little touch of our artistic style. Below are explanations of the different aspects of our worship time.

Arrival
We you walk in the doors you will see a booktable, information center and place where there is free coffee. Before service begins we have music playing in the background and we invite you get to know some of the people and familiarize yourself with our facility. There are bathrooms, a nursery, and Sunday school for the young kids.

Call to Worship
We begin our service with a call to worship. All of our lives are worship and Sunday morning service is a speical time of worship together as God’s people.

Music
We don’t think any one type of music is better than another but at the same time our desire is that this art be creatively expressed and compatible for others to sing with at times. We use a mix of ancient hymns, current songs, and instrumental creations. We sing in response to God. Who he is and what he has done is his grace in our lives and it propels us to worship.

Sermons
The time when we study the Bible is an important portion when one of the pastors of the church preach a sermon. The Pastors are committed to treating the Bible with respect by reading within it’s literary and historical context, attempting to understand the author’s intent, dealing with the specific words, and by addressing how culture and our lives are related to the gospel it heralds.

The Lord’s Supper
The table is open every week to anyone with a resolve that faith in Jesus Christ is our only hope for humans. The ordinance of the Lord’s Supper is a commemeration and supplication for the grace provided for in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. During any time during communion one may go to one of the communion stations, break off a piece of bread and dip it in the wine and partake. This is also an excellent time to demonstrate new found faith. In additon, Pastors are always availble for prayer at the back during communion.

Giving
There are a few different stations for giving where we worship God out our earnings. it is not a payment nor a gimmick, but rather a joy and responsibility for those who consider The Resolved their church. The money given goes to sustain and spread the mission of The Resolved Church in San Diego and beyond. Giving is also available here online.
